Statement of Faith

This We Believe...

Our Triune God:
We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, holy and infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three equally divine persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Luke 3:21-22, Acts 7:55, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2

Our Savior Jesus Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the promised Messiah, conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man.
Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-3, John 20:28-29, Titus 2:13, Hebrews 1:3

God’s Holy Word:
We believe that God is the originating author of all 66 books of the Bible and that the Bible is completely trustworthy, without error and the final authority by which all doctrines and practices are judged.
Psalm 19:7-8, John 16:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Peter 1:10-11

The Human Condition:
We believe that God created humanity in His own image to be in loving relationship with Him but that as a result of sin, which all of humanity has participated in both by nature and by choice, humans are alienated from God, are under His righteous condemnation, and are unable to save themselves from this condition.
Genesis 3:6, Psalm 14:2-3, Romans 3:22b-23, Romans 5:12

The Gospel:
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross in order to make substitutionary atonement for the sins of the world, that He rose again from the dead thus breaking the power of death and bringing eternal life for all who repent of their sins and believe in Christ for salvation.
Isaiah 53:5, Mark 10:45, John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:21
The Holy Spirit:
We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates sinners, baptizes all Christians into union with Christ,  provides assurance of salvation, empowers godly living, and gives spiritual gifts for the edification of the Body of Christ.
Ezekiel 36:27, John 3:6, Romans 8:16, 1 Corinthians 12:7, Galatians 5:16

The Church:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church; the two biblical offices of the church are elder and deacon; and the two ordinances that Jesus commanded for His church to practice until He returns are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 22:19-20, Colossians 1:18

Christ’s Return:
We believe in the personal, glorious and bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth to establish His kingdom, all those who have rejected Christ’s atoning work will be consigned to hell and experience eternal separation from God and all those who trust in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and their hope of eternal life will dwell forever in the new heavens and the new earth with the Lord.
Mark 14:62, Luke 12:5, Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 21:2-4

The Christian Life:
We believe that it is the duty and privilege of every follower of Jesus to participate in the verbal proclamation of the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to undergird that witness with a Christian lifestyle that is marked by sacrificial acts of mercy, kindness and love.
Matthew 25:40, Luke 6:27-28, Romans 10:14, Colossians 4:3-4
